Wabing Instructor

As a Wabing Instructor, you can teach Wabing in groups or one-on-one. Wabing can also be used in conjunction with other techniques such as traditional therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and so on. To become a certified Wabing Instructor, you need to complete both the Wabing course and the Certification section.

Wabing Course

Content

  • Psychological and neurobiological perspectives on the body, brain, and nervous system (limbic regulation, fight/flight, freeze/submission, social engagement system)
  • Understanding the causes and effects of neurogenic tremor
  • Self-regulation as it relates to neurogenic tremor
  • Grounding and holding the space
  • Stretching exercises for neurogenic tremor activation
  • Hands on assist: how to get tremors going in all participants, how to open blockages, and how to deal with possible reactions
  • Various tools to enhance The Good Vibrations® meditative experience (e.g. vagus activation, emotional awareness, accepting attitude, compassion for self and others, whole-body presence)

The course is divided into two sections – a theoretical and a practical block.

Theoretical block

The theoretical block consists of the following five modules:

Module 1: THE NERVOUS SYSTEM & NEUROGENIC TREMOR

Module 2: THE BRAIN & HOW THE BRAIN PROCESS STRESS AND TRAUMA

Module 3: THE INSULA & HOW THE BRAIN REACTS TO UNPLEASANT SENSORY IMPRESSIONS

Module 4: THE FASCIAL SYSTEM AS A SENSORY ORGAN

Module 5: USING WABING AS A RESILIENCE & RECOVERY METHOD

Practical block

In the practical block, you will do five guided Wabing classes, consisting of Wabe Warm-Up, The Good Vibrations®, and various resilience meditation exercises.

Wabing Class 1 – Focuses on relaxation, getting started with The Good Vibrations®, and getting your body used to neurogenic tremoring.

Wabing Class 2 – Focuses on emotional management and practicing understanding of emotions as an information carrier. Learning to make contact with somatic and emotional markers.

Wabing Class 3 – Focuses on self-acceptance and moving from being aware of thoughts to simply being mindful in a state of inner peace.

Wabing Class 4 – Focuses on self-compassion and exercises to open up for vulnerability, courage, and contact with the feeling of love.

Wabing Class 5 – Focuses on “Whole Body Contact”, feeling gratitude and trust in oneself and towards life in general, as well as deepening the movement of the neurogenic tremors throughout the body.

Payment terms

When you register, an invoice will be sent to the e-mail address you provide within one week. Payment deadline: 30 days prior to the first day of training. In the event of special circumstances, the invoice may be divided into two equal parts (one part is paid before the course starts and one part is paid two months after the course starts). If you need to cancel your registration, you can do so free of charge up to 30 days before the start of the training. ​If you cancel less than 30 days before the start of the course, you will receive a refund if you present a medical certificate.

Refund

If you are forced to interrupt your training for valid reasons, such as illness supported by a medical certificate, you will receive a refund for the unused portion of the course fee. If you need to take a break from the training for personal reasons, you will be offered the opportunity to resume it later.

Certification

Requirements

To become a certified Wabing instructor, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of anatomy.
  • Experience working with people in a supportive, coaching, or treatment role (e.g., health and medical professionals, body therapists, personal trainers, yoga/mindfulness instructors, or similar).

Overview

Completed the Course as well as the additional assignments required to become a Wabing Instructor.

  • Practical Block – five Wabing Classes done in total twenty times
  • Theoretical Block – five lecture modules in total (approx. 8 hrs)
  • Providing answers to module-specific questions (approx. 8 hrs)
  • 2 sessions of optional Q&A (1 hour each)
  • 1 session of certification (held online)

At-home assignments

Rather than taking a theoretical test, you will complete a series of homework assignments throughout the course that include study and reflection questions. The homework assignments are instructive and assist in both the integration of course material and the development of your own Wabing process.

Certification session

The certification session will be conducted via Zoom in small groups. Prior to certification, you must record three videos and answer the questions in each module (more details on the recording and homework will be provided in the webinar).

The following should be recorded:

  • an individual session in which you shake yourself
  • an individual session that you lead another person through Wabing
  • a group session in which you will lead at least three people through Wabing

After these films have been approved, we schedule a certification session using Zoom.

If additional supervision sessions are required they must be booked separately and cost $80 USD/30 minutes.

After certification, you may join Wabenation on an annual basis (USD 40 excl. VAT). As a member, you will receive annual continuing education in the form of 1-2 online workshops with in-depth material, Q&A sessions, as well as updates and access to material such as PowerPoint presentations, research articles, and so on.
